Many of the Hill Country’s vineyards are located in or near Fredericksburg, making it a hot spot for wine tours. There are dozens of these, both self-guided and private, but one of the most unique is the 290 Wine Shuttle. Shuttles run every 15 minutes and cycle between fifteen local wineries, allowing guests to hop on and off as they please. There’s no schedule and no sticking to groups. In addition, you can leave purchases with the shuttle for pickup at the end of the day for a small fee.
For an even more self-guided experience, try Fredericksburg’s Urban Wine Trail. This tour will take you to 10 wine tasting rooms and give you a chance to explore the town’s unique boutiques and delicious restaurants. It’s perfect for a spontaneous girls’ trip, as you don’t need a reservation. That means less time spent planning and more time spent having fun.
Fredericksburg has no shortage of small-town charm. However, for the ultimate bachelorette party, you should look toward an even smaller town. A town where everybody is somebody, and ain’t nobody feels no pain.
Luckenbach is a ghost town turned event venue, made famous by the Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson song of the same name. Though no one lives in Luckenbach today, the town is livelier than ever, hosting nightly concerts and wild dance parties. The Luckenbach Dancehall is legendary in country music circles, and it’s waiting for you to kick on those cowboy boots and hit the dancefloor.
If you want a truly extravagant bachelorette, you can rent out Luckenbach for parties. Yes, the entire town. Even the post office and general store. In addition to large-scale events, you can set up a private area in town without booking the whole ten acres. Alternatively, you can take a day trip and sip on sangria as you tour this slice of Texas history.
The Wine Barrel Cabins in Fredericksburg are Instagram-worthy lodgings located just five minutes from Main Street. Each of these two-person cabins is themed to a different wine varietal: Chardonnay, Rosé, Tempranillo, or Cabernet. Each cabin is designed to evoke the colors of its namesake, and also features king-sized beds, back-deck seating, and wine-barrel vanity sinks.
Have a group of more than eight people? Not a problem. The Wine Barrel Cabins also offer Hickory Haus: a three-bedroom vacation home with room for up to ten guests. This is a more traditional vacation home, featuring a full kitchen, fire pit, and cowboy-style pool. Book it on its own, or combine it with the cabins to host up to 18 guests!
Wimberley is the honky tonk capital of Texas, with some of the state’s most historic dancehalls sitting a stone’s throw away. These include highlights like Luckenbach and Albert Dancehall, but the most famous of these historic venues is Gruene Hall. Built in 1878, this humble dancehall has been the place to be for live entertainment.
Gruene Hall looks humble from the outside with its tin roof and unassuming facade, but make no mistake: this place is one of the hottest party destinations in Texas, and has hosted some of the biggest names in country music. We’re talking about Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, and LeAnn Rimes. This place attracts local performers and national tours, and it’s been the launch pad for countless music careers.
When you’re not dancing the night away, Wimberley offers no shortage of unique experiences. Try booking a spa treatment with your best friends. Alternatively, take a little adventure to Jacob’s Well, where you can go hiking year-round, or swim in the artesian spring in warmer months.
Wimberley Square is the heart of the town, offering dining, shopping, art galleries, and live entertainment. No trip to Wimberley is complete without a visit to the square, especially on monthly Market Days. On the first Saturday of each month, hundreds of vendors gather to sell crafts, collectibles, and antiques!
Even if you’re not there on Market Day, visiting Wimberley Square is worth the trip. If you want to find the perfect place for brunch with the girls, try The Leaning Pear. This local favorite offers a rotating menu of Hill Country-inspired delights, made with locally sourced ingredients. In addition to southern classics, The Leaning Pear offers fusion dishes inspired by the Hill Country’s diverse immigrant community.
After lunch, pay a visit to Wall Street Western. This unique boutique offers new and vintage western wear, as well as custom boots and jackets. Every item is hand-curated, leading to an eclectic collection that is sure to create a one-of-a-kind look.

This natural cavern pool is fed by a spectacular waterfall cascading over its lip and is a popular spot for swimming during the warmer months.
The pool isn’t open for swimming year-round, but Dripping Springs is still an ideal place for outdoor adventures. In addition to being within driving distance of major parks, smaller parks like Charro Ranch offer hiking trails, picnic spots, and snap-worthy scenery that your friends will love.
